FAQs

Q: Is the pool heated?
A: Yes – the pool is heated all year round to between 20-24 degrees. Although it can feel a little fresh to start with, it’s a perfect temperature for swimming.

Q: Can I come just for a swim on the weekend?
A: On weekends we only offer swim and eat packages or spa packages.

Q: Can I book for the non-member swimming session?
A: The session is on a first-come, first-served basis, we don’t make bookings. On hot days we sometimes close the session as it can get very busy. To guarantee pool access please book ahead onto a swim and eat package or spa package.

Q: Is there an age limit?
A: Our packages are not suitable for anyone under the age of 18 however we do have a children’s swimming session between 2-4pm Mon-Fri. Please bear in mind we have a strict one child per adult policy.

Q: How far ahead should I book a package?
A: For any packages or spa treatments we suggest allowing 2-3 weeks. In the hotter months we suggest 1 month. (please bear in mind this is a rough guideline!)

Q:  Do you accept large groups in the spa?
A: Due to the size of our facilities the maximum we can accommodate for a swim and eat package is 6. If you are a group of 6+ you will need to be booked onto a spa package which would include a massage treatment.

Q: Can I make a provisional booking or do I pay in full?
A: Unfortunately we cannot make any provisional bookings, we do require payment in full or a gift voucher code to confirm a booking.

Q: What’s your refund policy?
A: To cancel or move a booking we require at least 24 hours notice to entitle you to a full refund. Cancellations within 24 hours of your booking cannot be refunded.

Q: If I book a massage treatment does this entitle me to spa entry?
A: If you book just a massage treatment this does not include use of our spa, you will need to book onto a spa package to combine the two.

Q:  What do I wear for my massage?
A: We suggest wearing just pants/briefs to feel the most comfortable, your modesty is covered at all times!

Q: Do I have to decide which massage treatment I’m having in advance?
A: We need to know which massage you want before the day, ideally at the time you make your booking. Not all of our therapists offer the same treatments so if we get fully booked at your chosen time it slims down the chance of us being able to guarantee the one you want so please select when you book to avoid disappointment!

Q: How long does a massage treatment last for?
A: All treatments last for an hour

Q: Can I use the spa and have a treatment if I’m pregnant?
A: Yes! We offer a ‘Pregnancy Back and Leg’ treatment for anyone past their first trimester (we are not able to offer massage before the end of the first trimester.) The spa facilities are also fine to use with moderation, just be sensible about timings and keep hydrated!

Q: How do I make a booking?
A: You can either book online or call us. To book in we will need the names of everyone attending, a few contact details, the package you would like to book and either your Gift Voucher code or card details for payment (if booking a spa day it is handy to have an idea of the time you would like your treatment and what treatment you would like.)

Q: Do I have to buy a voucher before I book in?
A: No, we sell Gift Vouchers to be bought as presents but if you simply want to book yourself in just call or book online.

Q: Are Gift Vouchers transferable?
A: Yes all Gift Vouchers are transferable. They all have a monetary value so we take the amount and use it as part payment where necessary.

Q: Can I use my Gift Vouchers at Thames Lido?
A: Unfortunately vouchers for Bristol Lido are not transferable to Thames Lido.
